Meet Rav, the new Superintendent here in Greenwich

Hello!

I am Rav Pathania, your acting Superintendent for Neighbourhood Police in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. I have been in the role for six months now as one of the dedicated borough based Superintendents under the Commissioners vision of a New Met for London.

It is an immense privilege to be selected as the acting Superintendent for Greenwich. My key priority is to work collaboratively with yourselves and partners to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, but to simultaneously build trust and confidence as we do this.

I have previously worked in Greenwich as one of the Chief Inspectors covering Emergency Response and Patrol Teams for South East BCU (Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley). Therefore I have an good understanding of the local policing needs. Since 2007, I have been an officer at the MPS, having started my career as a police staff member. My policing career over the last 18 years has been largely Front Line Policing, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I look forward to using my experience to support my staff, reduce crime and increase trust. 

During the first six months of my tenure, I spent time getting acquainted with my teams. It has been a great experience getting to know my officers and witnessing their exceptional work to keep Greenwich safe on a daily basis. I have also met many local partners and seen the amazing work that goes on behind the scenes by dedicated and enthusiastic people.

In the months to come, we will put in effort to inform all of you on activities undertaken by our officers to give you first hand insight into the work they do on a daily basis.

As I continue to work to bring the borough-based police back to Greenwich, I am looking to establish new and existing connections with you over the coming months.

My team will use precision data and listen to concerns raised by communities to tackle local crime and anti-social behaviour.

I will endeavour to reduce the abstractions that surround our officers and be transparent in those conversations with you, so that you can understand the decision-making process and the context in which they were made.
